Ceftazidime Injection

Ceftazidime is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections. This medication belongs to a class of drugs known as cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Ceftazidime injection is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria including pneumonia and other lower respiratory tract (lung) infections; meningitis (infection of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord) and other brain and spinal cord infections; and abdominal (stomach area), skin, blood, bone, joint, female genital tract, and urinary tract infections. This injection is in a class of medications called cephalosporin antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria. Antibiotics such as ceftazidime injection will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections.
